Undoubtedly, the global pandemic has thrown life out of track disrupting the regular lives in a much profound way. While the whole world fights against COVID 19, India is still said to be in grip with the pandemic. The one thing that is of concern for every human is the freedom of movement, but thanks to the Modi Govt.’s Unlock 1.0 that announced relaxations of lock-down rules for many travel activities.

Relaxations on lock down rules are cool, but does it make travelling safe?

The answer is a big no. It’s not completely safe to travel during the Covid-19 outbreak regardless of your age, health conditions or the place you plan to visit due to higher risks of getting infected and spreading the deadly virus.

So, in times of such uncertainty, the risks of travelling should be known by all the people to avoid unnecessary frequent trips and also prevent community transmission upon travelling.

Here are few tips you need to follow while travelling for emergencies.

  • Travelling in a private vehicle: If you are travelling by own car or a rented car then make sure that the car’s interior surfaces along with the seats are all properly and regularly sanitized. Driver and the passengers ought to wash their hands or use sanitizer frequently and use face masks at all times.

  • If not travelling via private vehicle, one should always use disinfecting wipes to clean all surfaces thoroughly. A washable or reusable seat cover and a tray table cover should be taken along.

  • Social distancing: In every scenario of travelling on emergencies, social distancing is a must. Make sure all the passengers are following the minimum distance norms.

  • Avoid any sort of travel if you are feeling sick. Consult a doctor and get yourself tested immediately.

  • Follow all the Govt. protocols, all inter state or inter city travelers should have their temperatures checked and issue E-Pass beforehand (if required)

  • Avoid visiting crowded places and sharing meals with other people.

  • Try to cook your own food before travelling and carry your own water bottles. Sanitize the food packets and water bottles for personal hygiene.

We have no other responsibility but to stay at home, follow the hygiene protocol and follow the instructions given by the health authorities. Simple measures can help us fight off this pandemic so make avoid travel activities unless they are the need of the hour.
